Infant Care Expansion & Fundraising Need in 2026

In 2026, Northern Dutchess Daycare will expand infant care while raising funds for long-needed building upgrades that support the program.

At Northern Dutchess Daycare, our children thrive in a loving, nature-based environment that has supported local families since 1970. Surrounded by a 250-acre forest preserve, children from 18 months to 5 years build curiosity, confidence, and respect for the natural world—laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

As nearby childcare centers continue to close, the need for high-quality early care in our community has grown. In early 2026, Northern Dutchess Daycare will open a dedicated infant classroom for babies 6 months and up, helping address what is now considered an infant care desert in our region.

At the same time, our facility requires critical upgrades to remain safe, accessible, and functional. Planned improvements include new bathrooms, walkways and sidewalks, updated lighting, improved emergency egress, ADA-accessible ramps, new flooring, and essential foundation repairs.

We are honored to have been nominated for a $174,000 CREST grant, which will support these much-needed renovations. Because this grant is reimbursable, we must first raise the full amount before funds are released.

We need your help to move forward.
